Celebrating a Year, Looking to the Future!

“Come and see what God has done,
his awesome deeds for mankind!”- Psalm 66:5 (NIV)

What an awesome year it has been! God has done so many great things for us and the communities that we have been able to serve in! We are just privileged to be a part of His plan to serve the world for His name, and make disciples (Matt. 28:19-20)!

Here are some highlights of what God did this past year at Compassion Corps International!

  • Our interns successfully organized and ran our High School Club ministry at Math and Science High School! Many lives were touched through their ministry on that campus!
  • Our urban youth ministry (ICE Youth) grew and we were able to establish small groups called, “Ice Breakers,” in which our interns led and ministered at!
  • We went on a week-long missions trip to Moore, OK where we were able to serve the people who were affected by last year’s tornadoes! Where we worked, 80 homes had been destroyed by the storm! While there, we were able to help rebuild a family’s fence line, move new furniture into displaced homeowner’s rebuilt homes, and shine the light of Christ to a hurting community!
  • At our December youth rally, Amplify NOLA, 4 young men gave their lives to Christ and have been in our church ever since! One of the young men had been shot in the leg a few weeks before. Another one of them received the baptism of the Holy Spirit the following January, and now comes out to street evangelize with our interns!
  • Our interns began preaching, leading worship, and serving 200-300 people monthly at the local homeless shelter!
  • At the annual SUM Bible College Mardi Gras outreach, we were able to see 888 people give their lives to Christ and 41 healings recorded on the streets!
  • In March we hosted missions teams from Evangel University, Florida State University Chi Alpha, and Southwestern Assemblies of God University! They helped us put on a city-wide outreach at a local park where we fed, gave groceries, performed medical check-ups, prayed, and ministered to 500 people! Many lives where touched that day and it helped All Nations Fellowship establish themselves even further in the city of New Orleans!
  • In April, one of our students was selected to pastor our Spanish church plant of All Nations Fellowship! The church officially launched on Easter Sunday!
  • At our May youth rally, Immerse 2014, we saw 10 young people give their lives to Christ!
  • We had 5 interns and students finish the school year on the Dean’s List for their Bible College!
  • Not just that, but our youth worship team led by one of our interns will be leading worship for week 1 of this year’s statewide, Assemblies of God youth camp!
  • We also have another exciting outreach coming up on July 30th! At this outreach we will be giving away school supplies to parents and kids in our community! Last year we were able to serve 224 people and give away 170 backpacks! There are some awesome missions teams coming that week to help us put on that outreach!

It is so awesome to see what God is doing through our interns and we know that this year is going to be even more exciting! Even more, it is exciting to see lives transformed by the gospel of Jesus Christ! The Lord is opening up new doors for us to serve our communities, cities, and world this coming year!
